What Is Medicare Advantage?
Medicare Advantage (Part C) is an alternative to Original Medicare. Instead of getting your benefits directly from the federal government, you enroll in a plan offered by a private insurer that has contracted with Medicare to provide your Part A and Part B benefits.
Most Medicare Advantage plans also include Part D drug coverage, and many include extra benefits like dental, vision, hearing, and fitness programs — often at a $0 or low monthly premium.
The trade-off: you're generally limited to the plan's network of doctors and hospitals, and benefits can change every year during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 – December 7).
Florida has one of the most competitive Medicare Advantage markets in the country. William represents 11 MA carriers in Florida and compares plans based on your doctors, medications, and ZIP code.
Types of Medicare Advantage Plans
HMO (Health Maintenance Organization)
You choose a primary care physician who coordinates your care. Referrals required for specialists. Lower premiums, but you must stay in-network (except emergencies).
Best for: People who want lower premiums and are comfortable with a network and referral system.
PPO (Preferred Provider Organization)
More flexibility — you can see out-of-network providers at higher cost. No referrals required. Higher premiums than HMO.
Best for: People who want flexibility to see specialists without referrals.
PFFS (Private Fee-for-Service)
The plan sets its own payment terms. Providers must accept those terms. Less common than HMO/PPO.
Best for: Rural areas where HMO/PPO networks may be limited.
SNP (Special Needs Plan)
Designed for people with specific diseases, dual Medicare/Medicaid eligibility, or institutional care needs.
Best for: People with chronic conditions, dual eligibility, or institutional care needs.

"I contacted William to assist my wife and I after moving to Florida from another state. He contacted us immediately and scheduled a phone appointment for the following week. We spent about an hour getting to know each other and our needs. He recommended several companies to match our needs and our location here in FL that we would NEVER had figured out on our own. Praise the Lord for Bill and for his help!! I would recommend him to anyone and everyone!!"
